AI for Learning

At DarkViolet.ai, we believe in human-centered AI. That means using AI to amplify human capabilities and never to outsource the role of the human. We see AI as a tool to be used by humans rather than a replacement for their intelligence. And this concept of human-centered AI was the inspiration for Lumi Forge. (Find out more at LumiForge.io.)

This is a mini-demo that shows one small way we implement human-centered AI inside Lumi Forge in a simplified way. Here, our system takes your source material and with just a click, quickly turns it into an interactive experience including a focused set of source-grounded questions for students or life-long learners to explore and work through. This is a simple but powerful capability, one of many that lead to the immersive quality that defines Lumi Forge.

Our Learning Theory in Action
The motivation behind Lumi Forge is simple but robust: education becomes more durable when learners are active participants instead of passive consumers. Reading matters, but reading alone is often not enough.
How many times have you had to re-read a passage multiple times, because you did not realize until the end that you had not been focused on the material as you read? We humans remember more when we have to retrieve ideas, check our understanding, notice where we are uncertain, and return to the source with a sharper question. This truth drives our approach to education, centered on immersive interaction across the whole Lumi Forge experience.
From delivery to engagement
Most educational software treats exposure as the goal: read a unit, watch a video, finish a module. We follow a different premise. We believe understanding is built through active participation, rather than passive consumption.
The whole experience
In Lumi Forge, the immersive quality grows from how a complete learning experience is composed, sequenced, and connected, rather than from any single feature added on top of a document. The learner moves through the ideas instead of only reading about them.
Grounded transformation
Rather than inventing a lesson around the material, our human-centered AI works from the original source itself, so the value comes from engaging with the original ideas. That principle holds inside this small demo and across the full Lumi Forge platform.
Productive struggle
A wrong answer works as a useful signal rather than a failure. When learners compare their response to the correct answer and the source-grounded explanation, that mismatch becomes part of the learning process.
what this demo does
1. Bring the sourceUpload a PDF, or input text directly. The system extracts the first 18,000 characters so the demo stays focused, bounded, and computationally reasonable.
2. Shape the interactionChoose the number of questions you would like to create based on your content, and decide which types of questions you would like to include. The system balances the questions across the types you select.
3. Generate the question setOur system formats the original material as an attractive body of content and creates source-grounded questions, answers, and explanations.
4. Explore and reviewAnswer the questions one-by-one, open the original reading material whenever needed, then review results and download a PDF record of the exercise. This walkthrough is one slice of the platform, and the fuller immersive experience lives at LumiForge.io.
